| I enclose statements from the Supts of the
W&W R. R. {Wilmington & Weldon RR} and the
W&M R. R. {Wilmington & Manchester RR} They
have been called for by numerous telegrams from your office. I do not
think these roads have wither violated orders, or failed to do all in
their power. Their track and stock are in wretched condition. The Weldon
road was interrupted by the movement of troops. I am trying my best to
help their work shops, but it is up hill business. |
