I telegraphed you on yesterday, that Genl. Lee desired,
that the number of negroes necessary to finish the Railroad from
Demopolis to McDowells Landing should at once be furnished. I now write
to say that he desires this work to be finished as rapidly as possible,
and under no circumstan4s is it to be delayed until the commencement of
bad weather. |
