Did all the sugar from Enterprise go
forward: Was there any cotton on the M&O RRoad
{Mobile & Ohio RR} left behind? I want ten (10) steam boats
sent up this river to take stores out for Mobile. Have telegraphed
Genl Maury to send them. They should come without delay, river now
in good order as high as Gainesville. Empress these boats and send
an officer to enquire for corn at all the landings so as to know
when freight could be had. Do not ship stores to Selma until we are
done shipping from the Tombigbee. |
