Your communication of 19th inst has been received, and I am
directed by the Lieut Genl Comdg to say in reply that the order issued
from these Hd Qrs prohibiting the transportation of Cotton towards the
enemy's lines has not been revoked, but is still in force. |

No cotton must be carried in the direction mentioned unless
by permit from these Head Quarters. |
