Commander J. M. Brooke |
Richmond, Va. |
|
Quartermasters and railroads will not
transport guns without stringent orders from Richmond. Guns will be
ready for Columbia {at Charleston, S. C.} when
railroads are repaired. Have sent thirty guns to Mobile, two to Peedee.
Will turn out one gun every five days. Could double it with two
additional first-rate blacksmiths. Want copper. Have old bronze guns
been tried for sabots? |
