Whereas the Confederate States have this day conveyed
to the Alabama & Tennessee River Rail Road Company certain iron, copper,
brass & composition by ??vestmont of same date herewith which conveyance
was so made in consideration removing other things that the present
obligation should be made, was therefor, for Commodore Catesby ap R
Jones C. S. N. Commanding Naval Gun Foundry & Ordnance Works Selma or
his successor in office or the Department of the Navy of the Confederate
States shall call for the Gun Iron in pigs Hot Brockton pig Iron to the
extent of fifty tons or for the copper, brass or composition the same,
shall at once be returned, and the Government may at once take
possession of as much as may be called for & demanded, without
resistance or opposition in any way having ??? and to the extent of the
property so redelivered and claim shall be made against the Government
of the Confederate States nor shall the company give any ??dit on
account to the Government. |
It is further provided that whatever iron or other property
so conveyed may be transferred by said Comdr Jones to persons to whom
said Naval Gun Foundry & Ordnance Works is indebted to shall also be ???
to the parties so entitled with the same rules & provisions above made
in reference to property which may be called for & demanded by the said
Comdr Jones or his successors or the Department of the Navy. |
No property agreed by these presents to be
delivered shall be used without the consent of said Comdg Jones. |
In witness whereof the Superintendent of
said Company hereto sets his hand & affixes the seal of the Company this
the 25th day of April A. D. 1865. |
