| You are aware that for two months we were
without suitable iron for casting guns, and that we failed to obtain
it for the want of transportation {on the
Alabama & Tennessee River RR}. I made a report of the
difficulties in obtaining transportation to Richmond, which the
quartermasters have taken exception to. |
| Please inform me what were the causes of
delay in the delivery of iron, and oblige. |
