Before me the undersigned Justice of the Peach duly
commissioned and sworn, personally came and appeared J. V. Duralde
President of the Baton Rouge Grosse Tete & Opelousas Railroad
Company, who being duly sworn, States that there is now Fourteen Miles
and 880 feet of said road graded and upon which no iron has been laid;
and that the said Company is entitled to receive from the State of
Louisiana Eighty four Bonds of One thousand Dollars each, in
accordance with Act. No. 70, approved Jany 20th 1862, entitled
"An Act to authorize the issue of State Bonds to Railroad
Companies, agreeably to Ordinance No. 29 of the Louisiana State
Convention, adopted March 23d 1861." |
Deponent further states that this Company has received from the State
only Seventy Six Bonds on one thousand Dollars each, on account of her
subscription to said Road. |
