On or about the 20th October
1863 the Genl Superintendent of the Alabama & Miss Rivers Rail Road
purchased of Wm H. Grider, Sugar to the amount of 25 to 50 Hhds, to be
delivered by Grider at Demopolis. The Sugar was duly consigned to M. B.
Pritchard Genl. Supt A&M R RRd and shipped by Rail from Brandon to
Demopolis. 8 Hhds came safely to hand, a lot of 26 Hhds was seized or
impressed at Meridian b Maj W H Dameron Chf Com for the State of
Mississippi, out of which has grown the following correspondence. |
