Dear Sir, |
Your favor of the 5th came to hand a few
days since saying you could get the Tires casted if you could furnish
the chills & pattern. I would much prefer the Roled Tires if it
can be had. I can yet have got one set of Chilled Tire from Messrs
Lufbumong & Tymons Augusta but as I before said I much desire the
Roled Tire I think you can get Chilled Tire in Augusta should you want
them. |
The Lathes are at the Government Shops at
Augusta in charge of Col Raines I went to Augusta a week or two ago
& called on Col Raines & indeavored to prevale on him to let
us have the Lathes back. That I was willing to pay even more for them
than the Government paid us for them when they were impressed, but he
Col R. said it was impossible for him to get on without them as they
were the largest & only Lathes he had for booring out guns &
was actually indespensible he appeared willing to do all he could, but
positively Refused to part with the Lathes. |
Yours Respey |
