Dear Sir, |
I respectfully tender you this my
application earnestly requesting that you will make the necessary
application for the extension of the Details of private J. T.
Stone Company B & private Cormork Hopkins Company C 18 Geo
Batalin Major Bassinger Commanding. J. T. Stone is employed as Chief
Engineer of this Road. Mr Hopkins is employed as Ticket Agent. He was
Detailed on account of the health & is hardly yet fit for Field
Service. Mr. Stone was Detailed as Chief Engineer of this Road. Their
Services care indispensible and actually necessary for the Successful
Opperation of the Road. We are as you well know Opperating 200 miles
of Road doing considerable Government business & have but Five Men
Detailed Two of Whome were detailed on account of being unfit for
Field Service. I sincerely hope that you will make a warm and earnest
appeal for the extention of their Details & that it may be
favourably received & granted -- as it is impossible to fill their
places & their services are absolutely necessaryfor the
Successfull Opperation of the Road Have the Detail extended to as
long a period as is consitant with Military rule I would also be
pleased if you would at the Same time apply for Corpal L Cannon 1s
Regiment Geo Volunteers Company G. Your particular attention to the
above request will much oblige your |
