III Major R. B. Hurt Chief R.
R. Superintendent will at once make the necessary arrangements with the
several railroads from New Orleans to Richmond Va for the establishment
of a tri-weekly train each way between those two points, those from New
Orleans to be freighted exclusively with sugar and molasses and those
from Richmond with flour for the better subsistence and greater
convenience of the Army and the people. At those places the consignments
of freight will be made through the Commissary Department. |
