Major, |
With reference to the loading
& unloading of the slate delivered by Mr Dever at the Cartersville Depot
{Western & Atlantic RR}, I beg to state
that Mr Dever will send hands to load them on the cars, if the agent or
A. Q. M. at Cartersville will send him word when the cars are there for
loading. Mr. Dever's address is van West, Polk Co., Ga. The slate should
be shipped in box cars, and should not be reshipped at Atlanta, a much
breakage is thereby avoided. If word is sent to Mr. Dever, as above
suggested, there will be no necessity for my sending an agent to attend
to the shipping of the slate, which will be delivered at irregular
intervals, as they are manufactured. The R. R. Agent at Cartersville
knows how to manage the business and I have no doubts will do so if
urged by the A. Q. M. at that place, to which end I respectfully request
that you will instruct him. |
I have the honor to be Major |
Respectfully, Your Obdt Servt |
