XXVI. Captain Philip A. Wellford, A. C.
V., will proceed without delay to Columbus, Georgia for the purpose of
investigating the delay in the transportation of corn from that and
adjacent points to Richmond Virginia. |
He will see that the necessary supply for
the Subsistence Department is forwarded with the utmost promptness and
regularity and that it receives precedence in transportation over all
other freight. |
He will confer with Major Sims, Chief of
Railroad Transportation, who is hereby directed to extend such
assistance as will secure prompt and speedy action, and enable the
collection of the requisite supply. |
