I learn from C. T. Pollard Esq Prest of
the Montgomery & West Point Railroad that there is some hesitancy
in the part of Gen Buckner in ordering rails removed from the Roads
indicated by you, from which the Montgomery & West Point Road
should be supplied. I beg again to urge the great necessity for prompt
action in this matter, and would respectfully suggest that, of the
three Roads indicated, the Ala. & Fla. Road of Fla. would be much
the most convenient, and that the rails from the other two Roads
should be kept to supply Roads west of the Ala. River. |
