The Quartermaster of transportation at
this Post, having received orders to remove the Hospital supplies here,
has construed the order, under the regulations laid down by the Q. M.
Genl., to exclude the shipment of all other stores, and I find it
impossible this morning to ship a pound. I have been busily shipping
stores for past two days and now have all my machinery down and ready
for shipment. |
I beg to call your attention to my
telegram this morning in relation to this matter, asking whether it is
better to give bunks and old Hospital furniture generally, preference
over Ordnance Stores and Machinery. |
I would respectfully ask for other
instructions as may be deemed best in regard to the shipments. |
Should you give instructions to the
contrary, I will have to wait until all hospital supplies and ??? sent
off before I can commence shipments again. |
