| I will commence tomorrow to ship all the
machinery, stores &c of this Arsenal to Macon and Augusta, adapting
shipments to facilities afforded for transportation by the Rail Roads to
these points. I shall endeavor to send all the machinery to Augusta and
the stores to you, as far as practicable. |
| Although this has been deemed best just
now, I am in hopes it may yet prove premature, and that in a short time
I will be able to have everything returned and put in operation as
before. |
