Dear Sir, |
We hand you herewith an order from Genl {?}
Ashe, authorizing that our Old Rails and Pig Metal now on the way and
probably much in Petersburg, shall be transported thru the City on the
Rail Road belonging to the Confederacy. We are unacquainted with Mr.
Moffit
{Morfit}
for whom this order is ??? and we write to get the favor of you
to attend to the matter for us. One hundred & fifty Tons of Metal
was at the Weldon Depot some days ago and is either there or in
Petersburg, and we wish it sent on as early as practicable. |
