Dear Sir, |
We have forwarded to Petersburg by water
440 Rails ea 23 ft & 7 Bars 19 ft weighing 50.6 pounds per yard {173,000
pounds of rails; the lengths will make just under one mile of track,
both sides}. The balance of the 150 bars is being loaded. The
bal of the Rails 457 or 480 bars have been purchased by Mr. Ash
{probably W. S. Ashe, President of the Wilmington & Weldon RR}.
The premise is that the Blu{?} Rails
should be shipped thru Petersburg without Change of Cars & we hope
will come direct to this City in the cars in which they are forwarded. |
Very respy |
