Dear Sir, |
Yours about Way Bills recd. We can never
know how much of our freight we can get off by a train until it is
gone as it depends altogether upon how much the Engine can pull. And
as it takes time to make out a Bill & Copy it, correctly. We have
adopted the only feasible plan possible: to put the number of each car
opposite its loading on the Bill, & when a Bill is for any reason
not sent, Parker is always notified, & a list sent so he can
deliver the freight & the same things are still properly entered
& sent up on a Bill. Parker does not do this but sends a list
& never does enter on ant Bill, what he has sent a memorandum for
if I could only by any means know before hand how many of our cars
would get off on a train, there would be no trouble in sending or
making Bills. |
Very truly |
