Dear Sir, |
Please let me have two Extra Trains if you
can tomorrow as I have 30 loaded cars, & very little Switch room
to "Shift" in. Can you not lay me another "Turn
out" at this Depot, even if it is only a temporary one, as in
that way we might save some of our "Shifting" which we are
all the time at. When the new Schedule goes into operation I do not
see what we shall do, as our Main Track will then be occupied nearly
all the time, in the morning the mail gets here at 615, &
stays on the Main Track until seven oclock, then the Accommodation
forms on it, & stays there until 9 oclock. at eleven Bush comes
& gets his train off at 12. "at e the Mail Train comes on it
& leaves at 4-- & as soon as the Mail gets off it the
evening Accomn gets on & goes away by 5 oclock by which time it is
almost dark. Now when you recollect that all our loading &
unloading is done on this little piece of Main Track, & that it is
the only way we can get to our Warehouse & remember too that
everything has to give place to Trains that have to go away on time.
You will see the vital necessity of giving us a little more track
Room. I hope you will take this matter into consideration as it would
relieve us very much. If you would only come down & stay a day
with us I think it would need no Argument to convince you that
we are slightly crowded both for House & track room. I do
most sincerely hope that you will come down, (any day you can,)
& see how we get on. |
Very truly |
