Richmond & Petersburg RR} |

Dear Sir, |
When the ACCn gets off I will have 31
loaded through cars left behind of which I wrote you yesterday eleven
are here at the Depot & 20 at P RR Depot which I told them not to
bring down here until I got more room. I heard that Dilton was here
yesterday but I did not see him though I was on the Platform all the
afternoon. I am very sorry that I did not see him as I might have sent
four or 5 cars to Chester which this mornings Acc might have taken
from there in addition to what they could pull from here. I beg that
you will give me one, & if you can two, Extra's to day so I can
get some of my freight off which is blocking everything up at both
ours & the PRR {Petersburg RR} Depot.
The transportation for Genl. Wise's horse was sent to Norfolk day
before yesterday with directions to return Major Duffield his money,
& take the transportation instead. I could not therefore return it
to you according to your letter yesterday evening. No "Way
Bill" or any scratch of a pen was received here with last night's
train nor any transportation for the Sheets of Boiler Iron for Norfolk
Navy Yard yesterday morning -- nor in fact any way Bill
yesterday morning. Nothing save a little slip of paper to Butts{1}
being a memoranda for some of the things sent. But the truth is John
Parker never does send me anything directing them all the time to
Butts instead of me, although I have remonstrated with before about
this same thing. If Butts was responsible for what occurs here I would
not say a word but as I am, I think it is nothing more than
right that I should be properly informed of what comes here, & the
bills letters &c sent to me -- & no one else. |
Very truly |
T Daniel |
