Dear Sir, |
I send enclosed 75c for the old notes you
sent. Mr. Fremont {Superintendent, Wilmington
& Weldon RR} refuses to let the W&W cars come any
further than Weldon, & is having a large number unloaded there.
Curtiss talks of having their cars (R&RR {Petersburg
RR}) unloaded at their Depot, which will increase our troubles
here very much & possibly cause us to resort to draying again. |
Our Street here at the Depot has with the
recent wet weather become a perfect mudhole. I do not know how in the
world we will get along this winter with our increased Business
without it is paved & the water led off across the track at the
upper end of the shed. it should be dug out in a sort of a hollow
so as to make the drain in the middle of the Street, commencing at the
Northern end, & then substantially paved. if this is not done, it
will in a short time render the Govt track through the Shed almost
worthless by filling it up with mud. & I think the Govt. should
pave the street as a precautionary measure as the present
condition of their track will show. |
Very truly |
