| I herewith enclose you two details. There
men were recently in our service but were taken away. I am more than
glad to see they will be allowed to us again. I have the regimental
details here. Will you please do as follows. Call at the War Dept and
obtain copies for the men; learn yourself from the Dept the Brigade &
Division the men are in & yourself enclose each man his detail. I am
thus specific for my confidence is by no other course will they reach
the men. I do not know the brigade or division or post office of either
of them. This will be some trouble to you but I hope for our sake you
will take it. It would be hard after the men are detailed for them not
to get the details and our loss their services yet I do assure you
unless you take the above trouble for us the men will never hear of
them. Please send the details to the men direct themselves and
not through the officers. You may rely on it without addressing this
course it will not get. This is my experience invariably. The officers
stop & destroy them. This is wrong but they do it. Thus I am definite.
