Col.,
   I called at your office at 10 AM this morning but failed to see you. I wished to request a revision of the prices charged for transportation of wood & Lumber on the R&P RRd. {Richmond & Petersburg RR}
   Under the present schedule we are charged (85 30/00) eighty five & 30/100 dollars per flat load for all distances, a flat carrying 5 cord wood or 5 M ft feet lumber.
   We cut enormous quantities of wood and lumber at 7 mile crossing & thus have to pay 17 06$ per cord for carriage (7) seven miles, which certainly was not contemplated when the schedule was arranged. This amounts in fact to the cost of the wood loaded on the cars.
   In view of the fact that this department has a large amount of wood & lumber to be brought from this point, we respr request a revision of this schedule if possible, at the earliest practicable moment. We bring here monthly about 500 cords wood {about 100 car loads} & 75 M ft lumber {about 18 car loads}.
Very respr
