{From the minutes of the
Directors' Meeting of the Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac RR,
August 7, 1861}
The President reported to the Board that
upon further investigation and information as to the availability to
the Company and expediency of the rail road connection along 8th
Street between the depots of this Company and the Richmond &
Petersburg Rail Road Company he was convinced that it would be
inexpedient for the Company to assume the construction or ownership of
it and gave his reason for that conviction -- whereupon it was
Resolved that the action and report of the President on this Subject
be approved.
