Locomotive Engines and Tenders, by
Freight Train, two dollars per mile, provided a competent person
accompanies and rides on each Engine, who is in the employ of the
shipper or consignee. |
Passenger, Baggage and Freight cars at
five cents per wheel per mile. |
Cars can be hired to transport the
furniture and household articles only of persons removing, at $30
for an eight-wheeled car, between Richmond and Petersburg; & $35
bet. Richmond or Petersburg & Clover Hill. The furniture, &c, will
be at owner's risk, and to be loaded and unloaded by the owner. |
Carriages must be securely protected by
being boxed, or by god covering, or other suitable packing, from
liability to fire or from chafing, or injury from weather, or they
will not be received for transportation, except at owner's risk. |
Granit -- rough building stone, &c., by
special contract. |
Seventy-five cents per 1,000 feet
additional to be charged on all lumber loaded and unloaded by the
Company's hands. |
Unenumerated articles will be taken at
the rates charged on analogous or like articles. |
Articles of extraordinary bulk or
unusual length, heavy machinery, steam engines and boilers long and
heavy sticks of timber, &c., must be made the subject of special
agreement with the Superintendent. |
The rates of Freight between Richmond
and Petersburg and Port Walthall, will be the same as between
Richmond and Petersburg, except as otherwise provided for. |
The rates between Port Walthall Junction
and Clover Hill to be the same as between Richmond and Petersburg. |
