Arrange to bring the rails from Ridgeway
to Petersburg at the rate of two and a half miles a week. Hawkins {President,
Raleigh & Gaston RR} can bring it to Gaston, but you will
decide whether it is better to take it from Ridgeway or Gaston.
Commence immediately. Got home this morning. |

{There were the rails of the
Roanoke Valley RR which were headed to the Piedmont RR construction.
This would require about 28 cars per week.} |
