In accordance wit your instructions, I have called on Capt. J.
H. Olson, Asst Q. M. Genl at Augusta for $41,284.28 amt due this Rd
??? . He replys that he has no order on the subject, & no funds at
present. We are in great need of the money, & nothing but the
Treasury Notes will do. We cant use the Bonds. Other Rds are being
paid in Treasury Notes. Of late we have been doing all in our power to
get Govt. stores ??? was please from Nashville, and one Emergency
& now we now are to stasluth, no help for the aslwette but from
our Rd. Our Rolling Stock has been pressed on all sides & we are
barely supplied in our business. |
We should be paid promptly on recpt of
this. I hope you will remit the amt to me by Southern Express Co. |
The Recpt. for the above amt. of $41 284.28 has
been forwarded to you. |
