| I have the honor to inform you that my
clerk has just returned from Col. Jones' residence
{Superintendent, Alabama & Florida (of Alabama) RR} who informs
him that he had learned the troops were at Pollard and dispatched a
train to bring a portion of them, and farther promised to send another
train down tomorrow morning at the earliest possible moment. This is the
first official notification that I have had that any troops were at
Pollard. |
