Dr Sir, |
I would suggest that, if it should be
your object to push the reconstruction of the road, you should have
a force at work at the Pillar & Opaquan Bridges. The latter
crossing is much obstructed by cars all of which must be removed
before the trestles can be set up and to do this it will require a
large Derrick & a considerable force. The trestling at this
Bridge has been considerably damaged by the fire. I speak of this
crossing as it of much importance towards completing the road to the
Ferry, & no time should be lost in having everything prepared
for the trestles. |
All the track between this & the
Ferry except about 4 miles has been removed & one track and
about 3 miles of the other has also been removed between this and N.
Mountain. |
I am informed that the cars will pass
over Back Creek tomorrow night if so the track should be finished by
Wednesday next which would open the road to this point from the
west. |
I may remain here for a week or two yet
unless I may be called home sooner. |
Yours truly, |
P. H. Tegmeyer |
