| I recommend that you arrange with Genl
Banks for the recovery of your iron {taken up
by Jackson} on the line of the Winchester & Harpers Ferry
railroad {Winchester & Potomac RR} without
delay. If you repair the destroyed Bridges on the latter road the
transportation will be comparatively easy. |
| Genl Banks will give you covering
parties as far towards Winchester as consistent with safety. Please
attend to this at once. |
