| The necessities of the
Confederate service as represented to me, require more railroad
transportation for corn from Tarboro and Weldon to Richmond. |
| In view of this necessity I
have consented that the train of ten cars pledged on the seventeenth
inst. through the President of the Wilmington & Weldon Road to the
service of the State, shall be used by the Confederate States for the
above mentioned service. |
| You will therefore please
hold the said train of ten cars subject to the order of the proper
Confederate Officer. |
