New article in the Columbus Daily Enquirer of August 31, 1861,
announced that the mechanics of the above have built a "new styled
cannon" called a Sumner Oscillating Beechloading Rifled Gun. It was
manufactured from the crank axle of a railroad engine. (p. 87) |
