Of the fourteen engines and
tenders taken by the enemy and transported South in 1861, twelve
engines and the boiler of the thirteenth, with eleven tenders and two
tanks, were recovered, but in very bad condition. The fourteenth
engine (No. 34) with the machinery of another engine, one tender and
parts of two others, were entirely lost to the Company. |
