The above Cars and Engines are at this place, except engine General Cheatham and sixteen Box Cars, seized by Confederate authorities, and are now at Winnsboro', North Carolina.
We have, during the past years, built eight (8) Box Cars, and rebuilt four (4) Open Cars, and one Mail and Baggage Car. In addition to the above, we have six Box and one Open Car of the East Tennessee & Virginia Railroad, which we claim in place of the Cars of this Company oin possession of that Company when East Tennessee was evacuated.
We have lost two (2) Box Cars on the Camden and South Carolina Railroad, three (3) Cars on the Macon & Western Railroad, and three (3) on the South Carolina Railroad, by accidents -- the balance of the missing stock was destroyed and captured on the line of Railroad in East Tennessee. We have also at this place one Stationary Engine and Boiler -- a miscellaneous lot of shop machinery -- about 50 new Car Wheels, and a considerable lot of scrap iron -- three car loads of good lumber, and frames for two Box Cars complete.
Very respectfully
Charles B. Wallace
Acting Superintendent
