Directors' Meeting of the Selma & Meridian RR, February 21, 1865} |

| At a meeting of the Selma & Meridian Rail
Rd Co at Selma held on the 21st day of February 1865 |
| Present Jas L Price President and
Directors Lapsley, Reese, and Knox, the following proceedings were had
and resolutions adopted, to wit: |
| Resolved That the President of this
Company be and he is hereby authorised and empowered to employ and
appoint an agent to proceed to Richmond and lay before the Government or
proper department thereof, the claims of this Company, for
transportation or proper ??? of the same, with the vie of having
provision made for the payment of said claims at the earliest
practicable day, Provided, the President of the Alabama & Tennessee
River Rail Road Company shall concur in the appointment of the same
person as the agent of the latter Company, for a similar purpose in
relation to the claims of that Company against the Govt. |
| Resolved That the President be and
he is hereby authorised to allow such compensation to said agent on the
part of this Company, as he may deem proper not exceeding twenty five
hundred dollars, in addition to the expenses of the agent in going to
and returning from Richmond. |
