Memorandum of agreement made this 14th day of January A. D.
1865 between Mrs. A. P. Fluker of Sumter County Alabama, of the first
part and the Selma & Meridian Rail Road Company of the Second part
Witnesseth that the Said Mrs. A. P. Fluker contracts and agrees to
hire to the Selma & Meridian Rail Road Company two negro men Matt
& Phill for the Ensuing year upon the following conditions to Wit
Said Mrs. A. P. Fluker to clothe pay Taxes and doctors bills and loose
all runaway times and all Sick time over Six days in any one month.

| In consideration there of the Selma & Meridian Rail
Road Company agree to pay Said Mrs. A. P. Fluker at the rate of fifty
(50) Dollars per month specie and feed. Payments to be made monthly
(as required) at the Treasurer’s office in Demopolis. This contract
to commence the first day of January 1865 and Expire the 25th
of December 1865. |

here unto set their hands and seals the date aforesaid. |
