| A regular meeting of the Board was held to
day. |
| Present Lewis E. Harvie Prest Wm Palmer,
Jno R Edmunds, V Witcher, E B Leigh and R O Haskins |

| Resolved that the President be authorized
to use the force, shops and other property and fixtures of the road for
the purpose of aiding the Confederate and State Authorities in building
munitions of war and such other ??tract as they may require, provided it
can be done without loss to the Company. |

| Resolved That the President be
instructed to confer with the proper authorities of the Government of
the Confederate States, and to urge the importance of forming a
connection between the Richmond & Danville Railroad and the North
Carolina Central Railroad. {North Carolina RR;
this connection would become the Piedmont RR} |
