Colonel, |
In constructing works of defence around
Atlanta, private property is necessarily damaged & in some cases
seriously, in other cases slightly. Shall compensation be allowed? If so
what rule of assessment shall be adopted. |
Do you wish the cost of each particular
work kept separately? For example one voucher may contain items applied
to the Salt works, Duplicate Bridges and Defenses of Atlanta. Shall the
amount be noted on the voucher for each work, or will you require
separate vouchers. |
To whom will my vouchers be forwarded? I
have had no settlement since my appointment. |
Will you be kind enough to give answers to
the foregoing questions at as early a day as your engagements will
permit. |
I am Colonel |
Very Respectfully |
L. P. Grant |
