I think it will be well to complete
framing of bridges for the Geo R. R. so far as it can be done, leaving
the timber scattered in the woods when cut. |
If Greensboro affords no good position for
a Commissary Depot, a point in the general vicinity can be selected and
a siding put in to accommodate trains loading and unloading supplies. |
I will visit Augusta in a few days with a
view to its defence: if no survey of vicinity of the City can be
obtained, I wish you to start a party at once to make one, so that as
little delay as possible may occur in locating the works from the
plotted street. Survey should include both sides of the river. |
