| You are hereby authorized and requested to
proceed to Coweta County and hire negroes to be worked on the "defenses
of Atlanta." You are authorized to offer 25.00 per month with customary
rations. The Govt. will pay for medical attention and lost sick time if
the negroes are well and sound at the time of delivery. Owners of
negroes are earnestly invoked to aid the Govt. in this vital matter |
| The negroes will have plank shelters and
will be otherwise cared for. |
| You are authorized to give an order on me
to the agents or Conductors of Rail Roads for transportation of negroes
and the tickets will be issued here in proper form. |
