| Yours of Aug. 13th has been recd. We will
take your negroes on the same trains as are now paying others, viz.
$25.00 per month with customary rations and plank shelters for sleeping
& protection from inclement weather. Payment will be made monthly or
quarterly as you may desire. We do not she or cloth, and cannot make a
contract for definite length of time, as it is impossible to say how
long our work will be continued. We do not want any women. |
