Colonel, |
I have asked Genl. Ledbetter by letter to
give Mr. C. F. Williams an order to you for as many wheel barrows as we
may require, not exceeding 200. In a conversation with you at Atlanta I
understood you to say that 200 or a large number could be spared from
the works in your charge, and that you could transport the said barrows
to the salt works with you teams. For the present I do not wish more
than 50 sent, but wish to place the maximum at our disposal upon the
order of Amory Dexter, Civil Engineer in charge at the salt works. |
If General Ledbetter give the order,
please send 50 of the wheel barrows to the Jackson's Creek salt works. |
I am, Colonel, |
