| Dear Sir, |
| Col. J. F. Gilmer advises me by letter
dated 23d inst. that the provisions of the loan authorized by act of
Congress for the construction of the Rail Road from Blue Mountain to
Rome will be extended to your Company on the same conditions and
security as stipulated in the contract between the Ala. & Ten. River R.
Rd. Co. and the Govt. A copy of that contract was submitted to A.
Shorter Esq. former Presdt. of your Co. |
| Please notify me as early as convenient
whether your Co. will avail itself of the loan to carry forward the work
of graduation, masonry, Bridging and delivery of cross-ties for your
portion of the said link of Rail Road. |
