| Under the instructions from Maj Genl J. F.
Gilmer I have caused the damage to private property done in the
construction of works of defense around this city, to be assessed. This
has been done so far as owners could be found and lines of property
determined. Some cases cannot be determined at the present time. The
total amt will probably reach $250,000. Shall I forward the awards to
you as far as made? |
