Dear Sir, |
Your letter of 27th ult. was recd
yesterday on my return from Ala. In writing of the charges probably made
against you, I did not intend to withhold the name of the author, but
supposed that you would easily divine the source of the charge. I
enclose copy of letter from Col. Benj. E. Green, to whom I sent vouchers
to be signed and returned, embracing the iron taken by Capt. Haydon.
Please advise me of the condition of the work of reconstruction. I hope
you are now passing the trains over Holston. |
I shall send a copy of your proposition
which was accepted by Lt. Genl. E. Kirby Smith. Please forwd it. |
