Dear Sir, |
I send blanks as per your request. Please
forward 6 or 8 sheets to Capt. Haydon at Jonesboro. I infer from a
letter recd. this morning that you have been charged with using the pig
metal obtained by Capt. Haydon for your individual purpose. This
statement I infer has been made to the Presdt & Secy of War. |
The Department has not instructed me as to
the change in the mortgage, except in general terms that the mortgage
should cover the whole road. This can be perfected as well without my
presence as with(?). I will ask Col. Gilmer by letter, if the new
mortgage must be sent to Richmond for approval. As you have no copy of
the contract I will take one to Selma. The mortgage was forwarded to you
by mail some days ago. |
