| I replied to your dispatch of the 18th
that we should require about 150 negroes for three months. The
difficulty of hiring is for the short term, and in the planting season. |
| The Engineering work is now in progress
and the plan will be ready before we can put a force upon the ground. |
| Shall the contract be made with the Geo &
Ala. R. R. Co. for the work from Rome south to the Ala. State line? |
