Dear Sir, |
Yours of the 28th has been received. I can
only say that I am still waiting for the Treasury Draft on the
Depository at Chattanooga. I cannot account for the delay. Have
telegraphed Col. Gilmer twice on this subject. |
I saw Mr. Weaver on Saturday, who informed
me that the lumber was going forward satisfactorily. In regard to pig
metal, I hope you will be able to work in the old castings to a
sufficient extent to supply the deficiency. The Govt. will, of course
replace any pig metal of your own which may be used in the Watauga and
Holston bridges. I regret the delay in the funds, but can only wait here
the receipt of the draft. |
